Today we’d like to introduce you to Vesna Delevska.

Q: Hi Vesna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?

A: My story began in my childhood in Skopje, Macedonia, where the artistry of ancient Macedonian monasteries instilled in me a profound appreciation for visual storytelling and the interplay of color and form. My father’s dedication and love for drawing and painting also inspired me from a young age, laying the groundwork for my desire to become a visual artist.

After moving to the U.S., I embraced the opportunity to explore diverse artistic styles, blending influences from my heritage with contemporary techniques. My work reflects this fusion, characterized by vibrant colors, expressive movement, and fluid forms.

Nature has always been a significant source of inspiration, and I often delve into themes of abstraction in my compositions. Live painting performances at music events have further shaped my unique style, allowing me to translate the emotions of music onto the canvas.

Today, my art embodies my ongoing journey of visual expression, driven by the influences of music, nature, and the desire to explore deeper meanings beyond the surface of our basic senses.

Q: Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

A: Not always smooth, but incredibly rewarding. Early on, I faced challenges in fully committing to my art after college and finding opportunities that aligned with my vision. Meeting client expectations while maintaining my creative integrity was sometimes difficult. However, challenges are a natural part of growth. My connection to creativity has allowed me to identify opportunities in tough situations. For me, true art starts with who we are as individuals.

Q: Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

A: I am a visual artist specializing in acrylic paintings, murals, and live painting performances. My inspiration comes from exploration, nature, and live music. What sets me apart is my diverse journey through various art disciplines and my relentless pursuit of creativity.

Since I began live painting in 2010, I have embraced flexibility and expanded the boundaries of my artistic expression. My adaptability across styles such as realism, abstract, impressionism, and expressionism reflects my commitment to exploring new mediums, including canvases, murals, ceramics, various instruments, including pianos, and even furniture pieces.

I take pride in my resilience. When traditional avenues for making a living as an artist became less fulfilling, I sought out new opportunities. Over the past 11 years, I have run my own art gallery, hosted live painting events, and painted live at fundraisers, concerts, and weddings. This journey of exploration and learning has fueled my passion and defined my artistic path.

Q: What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?

A: The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is the significance of being true to who I am and remaining authentic to my purpose. Rather than compromising our gifts for external expectations, I have embraced my individuality, which is essential for realizing our full potential. When we are free from fear and self-doubt, only then can we truly understand creativity.
